Our Macedonian/Bulgarian dance troupe from the 70's in practicing for
yet, another, "standing ovation" performance in Palo Alto. The garments
are a "unique" combination of cultures. Lyn's dress & tunic are from Bulgaria;
Sue Boyle's dress design is from Serbia. Murray's outfit is "mostly" Bulgarian;
Erika is wearing a Macedonian wedding dress that is well over 125 years old
which was brought out of Macedonian in two parts, so to speak. Alix's dress
is "homemade" in America with an apron that is Afghan in origin. Alix's biggest
distinction is that she now lives in Norway where she works in the computer
industry, & also teaches folk dancing.
